Rose embroidery on clothing

Select a piece of fabric you wish to embroider. It could be a cloth napkin, a scarf, or another garment.

Mount an embroidery frame around the desired area of your embroidery. This step can be omitted, but it makes it easier to embroider when the fabric is taut.

Begin by sketching a circle with the embroidery pen where you want your flower. Add four lines within the circle, intersecting at the centre. Additionally, draw a few smaller circles in the same manner, and outline the petals of the flower. Refer to Anna's sketch in the video.

Thread the needle with the first colour of embroidery thread, which will form the centre of the flower. Embroider along the four lines of the large circle, allowing the threads to cross each other at the centre.

Now the flower petals must be made. Insert the needle under a couple of the diagonal threads, and continue all the way around from the inside to the outside until you reach the outermost sketched circle. In the video, Anna started with a red embroidery thread and changed to a lighter one along the way. Fasten off when the flower reaches the outermost sketched circle.

Using the same technique, you can embroider a couple of smaller flowers next to the large one.

Next, embroider green leaves by separating the embroidery thread into three strands. Begin from the centre line of the leaf, and place stitches from the centre out towards the edge of the leaf. Secure the thread at the end.

When your design is complete, if you still have some marks from the embroidery pen visible, these can be removed by ironing over them, so the design appears clean.
