Side table with organic shapes
"What a delight to the eye," Clara exclaims as Anna shows her the small, colourful side table. "And guess what... The table legs are made of poster tubes," Anna smiles. With a bit of handiness and a dash of creativity, you can follow Anna's example and create your own unique side table.
Start by cutting the MDF board into the shape you want for the tabletop, then sand the edges smooth. You can also use another recycled wooden board that is already cut in shape.
Paint your tabletop with furniture paint in the desired colour and let it dry.
Now cover the poster tubes, which will become the table legs, with patchwork fabric using a staple gun, as shown in the video. You can also use other recycled cardboard tubes.
Now place the poster or cardboard tubes on the tabletop, and mark around their placement with a pencil.
Screw the plastic lids from the poster tubes onto the markings on the tabletop using a screwdriver, a nut, screw, and washer as shown in the video. First, make a hole in each of the lids to make sure that you are hitting through the hole on your nuts, which are placed between the tabletop and the plastic lid. Make sure to turn the lids in the correct way so the cardboard tubes can be placed on top afterwards.
Fasten the poster tubes to their matching lids and turn the table over. Now your lovely new side table is finished and ready to add charm and cosiness to a small corner.
