Simple gel print art

Anna enjoys creating gel printing art. She often hangs it on the wall as lovely memories or gives it away as greeting cards or a personal gift. "I think this will be this year's Christmas present for Clara," she smiles.

1

Ensure you have all materials ready before you begin, as one should work quickly with gel printing.

2

First, spread a little colour on the gel plate - this will be the background colour of the piece. Then, place a piece of paper on top and secure the top part of the paper to the table with a piece of decorative tape. Use your hand to press the paper evenly against the plate, and then gently pull the paper off the plate again.

3

If there is still a lot of paint left on the gel plate, scrape off the excess paint with the scraper from the rubber roller before proceeding. Now place your chosen stencil on top of the gel plate. Use the roller to apply a layer of light colour over the stencil.

4

Now place a piece of bubble wrap on top of the paint, and press gently, so that the bubble wrap transfers a lovely pattern onto the paint. Then carefully remove the stencil and bubble wrap, and finally lay the paper on again. Press evenly on top of the paper to transfer the paint.

5

Carefully remove the decorative tape from the paper, and then leave the paper to dry. Once the paint is dry, your artwork is complete.

6

Feel free to make several prints with the various templates and colour combinations. Anna reminds you that you can also create your own templates or use different materials to craft exciting textures.

7

When your gel prints are dry, they are ready to adorn the wall in a beautiful frame, or to bring joy as a personalised card.
