Star ornament of patchwork fabric
"The joy of using one's old fabric scraps for creating something new and beautiful is never ending," Anna smiles while concentratedly folding a beautiful Christmas star out of fabric shreds.
Cut four strips of fabric with a width of 8 cm and a minimum length of 55 cm. The sisters' patchwork fabric is perfect in terms of length, but you can also reuse your own fabric scraps. You may mix fabrics with different prints or use the same one for all four strips.
Cut four strips of ironable fabric inserts in the same size as the fabric strips.
Iron the ironable fabric inserts onto the back of the fabric strips with a iron and remove the paper afterwards.
Fold each of the fabric shreds, so the edges meet in the middle, and iron the fabric to glue it together.
Fold the four fabric shreds according to the manual until the star has 8 spikes. Follow the instructions here.
Cut off the fabric leftovers to finish the star neatly.
Mount a cord to the star with needle and thread and let your star ornament adorn your home, for instance on a lovely spruce branch.
