Star with countdown to Christmas
The joy of anticipation is indeed the greatest, according to the sisters. "Especially for the little ones," smiles Anna, watching her nephew and nieces add another bead to the star. "One day closer to the big day," she smiles.
Unroll a bit of wire and shape it into a star. You can use a brush, pencil, or similar tool to create the star's points. The points should ideally be shaped smoothly so that beads can be slid across the wire afterwards.
First, check with one bead to see if it can pass all the way through the star. If it can, add more, until the star has a total of 25 beads.
Next, take some clay, and shape it into a ball with a flat base. Then insert the wire star into it.
Now, cover the clay ball with moss, and use u-shaped pins as needed to secure the moss. The u-shaped pins can easily be made using thin metal rods.
Embellish the clay as desired with items such as spruce, branches, decorative acorns, cones, berries, or other decorations. Secure these with u-shaped pins as needed.
Your decoration is now complete and can adorn your winter home. Let the little ones move a bead for each day in December until the big day finally arrives.
