Tablecloth clip with weight for garden table

Anna fetches the warm jumpers while Clara attaches the new tablecloth weights to the garden table’s cloth. When you have the right equipment, there is no need to retreat indoors, even if it is a bit breezy, the two sisters believe.

1

Start by gathering 4-6 stones of suitable size and weight. Let the size of your table determine how many stones you will need.

2

For one stone, you must cut six pieces of yarn, each approximately 50 cm in length. Gather the pieces, attach a binder clip in the middle, and tie a knot with the yarn ends around the clip as demonstrated in the video. This knot will be the starting point from which you will wrap the yarn around the stone.

3

Now gather the 12 yarn ends in pairs, and tie six new knots very close to the largest primary knot.

4

Continue tying the yarn ends together in pairs all the way around. Ensure that you pair yarn ends coming from two different 'pairs', so that a diamond-shaped pattern is formed.

5

Repeat the process a few times, and then place a stone in the middle of the preliminary work to assess the tightness of the knots and the length of the work. Once you have passed the widest point of the stone, you can begin to tighten the knots around the stone.

6

When the stone is completely covered with yarn, gather the yarn ends into one large knot. Cut the yarn to the desired length.

7

Repeat the process with the next stones until you have at least four stones. Attach the stones to each corner of the tablecloth with the binder clips. "Now, there is no risk of the tablecloth lifting in the balmy summer breeze," Clara says.
