Tea bag sachet

Download and print the template. Fold the fabric with the wrong side out and place the template on the fabric with the bottom edge at the folding line. Cut the fabric in the shape of the template.

Cut a small notch at all markings at the top of the fabric as indicated on the template.

Make sure the fabric is still folded right sides together and sew together the sides with 1 cm seam allowance from the bottom and up to notch number 5. Now, flip the bag, so the right side is out. You can now iron the bag, if you like, so the corners of the finished bag will be nice and neat.

Fold the fabric outwards at the opening of the bag. The folding line should be at notch number 3. Notch number 2 and 4 are now on top of each other, while notch number 1 and 5 are on top of each other. You can now once again iron the bag, so the fold is neat. Attach the fold with pins and sew with 1 cm seam allowance from the folding line to the first notch you reach. That is, the place where notch number 2 and 4 are on top of each other. Repeat on the other side of the bag.

Flip both sides of the bags inwards so the bag is now open in the top and approx. 4 cm down on both sides. Inside the bag, the right side of the fabric is visible 4.5 cm down.

Sew a drawstring hem on each side of the bag at the top in the little area where the sides are not sewn together. Sew from opening to opening of the slits on each side. Now, sew the other side of the drawstring hem. Here, you will sew at approx. 1 cm distance from the first seam in the drawstring hem.

Attach a safety pin at the end of the silk ribbon and bring pin and ribbon through the drawstring hem. You can cut the silk ribbon so there can be a bow at each side of the sachet. Tie a bow on the ribbon on one side.

Choose your most fragrant tea, put it in a tea bag and close it with a knot. Now, place the filled tea bag in the sachet, and pull the ribbons to close the bag. Finish with another bow.
