Turn a linen napkin into a tapestry
"Potato art," Anna says with excitement. Here, she has made a small tapestry from one of the sisters' classic linen napkins and decorated it with a graphic potato print.
Iron the linen napkin.
Cut a potato in the shape of a half-moon.
Stick a fork in the potato half-moon as a handle.
Place the napkin on a surface which is allowed to get stained. Add paint to the half-moon, and place it on the linen napkin. The easiest way is to start in a corner of the napkin and work from there.
When the motif is done, the paint must dry.
Turn the linen napkin with the back up and cut a little hole in both sides on the back of the top seam allowance approx. 1-2 cm from the edge. Only cut the back layer of the seam allowance so the hole will not be visible on the front of the napkin.
Stick a bamboo rod through one hole and out the other.
Tie a piece of jute twine to both ends of the bamboo rod. You can now hang the tapestry.
