Unique yarn scrap stool

While Clara is knitting, Anna is watching the wooden stool in the corner with her head tilted. Suddenly, she grabs Clara's basket of yarn scraps and starts wrapping the coloured strings around the legs of the stool. When Clara sees the result, she claps her hands in excitement.

1

For this project, you can use yarn scraps or whole balls of yarn. Tie a knot with yarn on the inside of a leg and make sure the end of the yarn is pointing upwards following the leg so it is covered by the next few rounds.

2

Now, start wrapping the yarn around the leg. If your yarn is attached to a ball of yarn, make sure to keep a short distance between ball and leg when you are wrapping to make is easier to manage. Tighten the yarn as you go. The yarn rounds should be in continuation of each other without spaces. Push it in to place as you go.

3

If you want to add a piece of yarn in a different colour in continuation of the previous colour, you can switch to a new one by cutting the yarn, tying a knot and placing the cut end upwards following the leg, like when you started. Tie a new piece of yarn to the leg and continue wrapping.

4

When you want to finish the yarn, cut the yarn and tie a knot. Add a needle to the end of the yarn and bring the needle behind approx. five-ten rounds of yarn on the back of the leg and back out. Cut the remaining piece of yarn, so the fixed end is now hidden.

5

Continue untill you are happy with the look of the chair. You can vary the look by starting and stopping with the yarn in different places on the stool, so the yarn areas are scattered and of various widths. Using different types of yarn gives the stool an exciting look, while using only one type of yarn gives it a more minimalistic look.
