Wrapping round gifts in silk paper
“The joy of gift-giving starts at the gift-wrapping,” Anna says as she happily cuts fringes in her silk paper to create a special effect. This gift-wrapping technique is especially well-suited for round gifts which are to be wrapped standing.
Take two sheets of silk paper in two different colours. In this video, blue and white are used.
Fold the blue silk paper in the middle and cut big notches in this horizontally.
Now, fold the white silk paper but cut fringes here instead.
Put the white silk paper on top of the blue, roll the gift into the paper and fold the paper at the bottom of the gift.
Close the silk paper in the side and the bottom with decorative tape, regular tape, or double-sided tape, if you wish to hide the closure completely.
Close at the top simply by holding it together and tying a bow around it. If you wish, you can arrange the top of the silk paper to look like a flower.
