With tiny houses, you can welcome the little, invisible Christmas elf into your home during the festive season. The sisters have gathered 7 ideas for cosy elf houses, and whether you create a ski slope, caravan, forest cabin, or a hidden nook in the bookshelf, the little Christmas guest is sure to feel right at home.

With a book as a house, the elf can move in anywhere in your home. The small, quirky elements such as chairs, skis, and gift wrapping supplies let your imagination run wild. Whatever might the elf be up to?

Mystical. Leave the door slightly ajar, so the little ones can imagine whether the elf might have been up to some mischief in the dead of night.

Light. Place string lights behind the little door to bring the elf house to life.

Gift-wrapping. With just a few tools, you can create a workshop for the elf. Could this be where all the Christmas presents come from?

In the enchanted forest lives the outdoorsy elf, who loves feeling fresh air on his face. With a wheelbarrow, moss, and a landscaped path, one can only imagine what mischief the elf might be up to in the forest.

Nature. Old branches and moss from the forest can transform a cardboard box into a magical elf home in the woods. Spruce trees and a string of lights add an extra touch of Christmas spirit.

Adventurous. Use moss as a forest floor, and place small pieces of wood as stepping stones. Where might the path lead?

If you want an elf who loves snow and skiing, you should create a little hill for tobogganning. Use newspapers and potato flour to craft the snowy landscape, and add small sleds, skis, and warm boots, so the playful elf can frolic.

Snowy landscape. Create a mound using newspaper or floral foam, and sprinkle potato starch on top to mimic snow.

Crystal clear. Place a small mirror at the bottom of the snow landscape to create a mirror-like lake for the elf to skate on.

According to the sisters, the whole home should exude Christmas. Create a little elf house for the shy elf in the bookshelf, and let the little ones imagine who might be living behind the decorated door.

Decoration. Paint the tiny doors in your favourite colour, or decorate them with small wreaths to achieve a charming expression.

Welcome. Use a sieve to sprinkle potato flour in front of the door to create the feeling of indoors and outdoors. Leave the door slightly ajar and feel the magic of Christmas.

Behind the scenes. Set up a bed or other miniature furniture behind the elf door, and watch the excitement grow in the little ones as they eagerly peek inside.

As you may know, elves do not require much space. Use a skirting board to create a cosy elf house for a cheerful little elf.

Scandinavian forest cabin. The house is made of a painted wall shelf, and the snow can be made from cotton wool placed on top of crumpled newspaper or floral foam.

Elf activities. Make little cosy displays by the house so it looks like the elf really lives there and is busy doing many exciting things.

Footprints. Make little steps in the snow with the tiny clogs so the children can start imagining where the elf might be going.

"All elves are sweet," Clara explains to her nephew. "But some of them might also indulge in a bit of mischief," Anna adds with a playful smile. And there must certainly be room for the mischievous elves in the sisters' home as well.
