With a book as a house, the elf can move in anywhere in your home. The small, quirky elements such as chairs, skis, and gift wrapping supplies let your imagination run wild. Whatever might the elf be up to?

Mystical. Leave the door slightly ajar, so the little ones can imagine whether the elf might have been up to some mischief in the dead of night.

Light. Place string lights behind the little door to bring the elf house to life.

From cardboard box to forest

In the enchanted forest lives the outdoorsy elf, who loves feeling fresh air on his face. With a wheelbarrow, moss, and a landscaped path, one can only imagine what mischief the elf might be up to in the forest.

If you want an elf who loves snow and skiing, you should create a little hill for tobogganning. Use newspapers and potato flour to craft the snowy landscape, and add small sleds, skis, and warm boots, so the playful elf can frolic.

Snowy landscape. Create a mound using newspaper or floral foam, and sprinkle potato starch on top to mimic snow.

Crystal clear. Place a small mirror at the bottom of the snow landscape to create a mirror-like lake for the elf to skate on.

Hidden elf home in the bookshelf

According to the sisters, the whole home should exude Christmas. Create a little elf house for the shy elf in the bookshelf, and let the little ones imagine who might be living behind the decorated door.

Decoration. Paint the tiny doors in your favourite colour, or decorate them with small wreaths to achieve a charming expression.

Welcome. Use a sieve to sprinkle potato flour in front of the door to create the feeling of indoors and outdoors. Leave the door slightly ajar and feel the magic of Christmas.

Behind the scenes. Set up a bed or other miniature furniture behind the elf door, and watch the excitement grow in the little ones as they eagerly peek inside.
