Decorate the Christmas tree with Anna and Clara

”Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh...” Clara hums as she searches for the big box of Christmas decorations and ornaments. As it is late November, Anna and Clara feel it is time to decorate their home and let the Christmas spirit spread. The ornaments are unwrapped one by one, and with each piece of decoration the sisters reminisce about the previous years of wonderful traditions they have shared with their loved ones. “The magical time of Christmas is once again upon us,” Anna says to her sister.

The sisters cherish Christmas traditions dearly, and especially the Christmas decorations are part of what makes Christmas so special, they agree. When Christmas arrives, their home is filled with both homemade creations as well as decorations gathered from their many travels around the world. In fact, the sisters believe that Christmas decorations must bubble with personality and evoke great memories.

Decorating the Christmas tree – a delightful family tradition

The sisters feel that it is ideal to meet with friends and family from near and far to gather around the activity of decorating both your home and your Christmas tree. They wish to pass on this tradition to their nieces and nephew so everyone – children as well as adults – are gathered to invite the Christmas spirit into their home. "The joy in the dear little ones' eyes at the sight of the decorated Christmas tree is like no other," Clara smiles, remembering last Christmas, when the dear little nephew nearly fell over backwards with excitement at the sight of the sparkling, colourful Christmas baubles on the magnificent Christmas tree.

“What a pity to only cherish the beautifully decorated Christmas tree a few days before Christmas,” Clara points out. The Christmas tree should be decorated and admired throughout the entire month of December, the sisters think. That is why they usually gather their loved ones to make this year’s tree one of a kind. In the big box of Christmas tree decorations are Christmas baubles, paper cones, and folded paper stars that evoke many memories. “But there is always room for renewal,” Anna smiles.

Christmas is a time full of creativity, if you ask the sisters. Making your own Christmas decorations is an activity that is both cosy and rewarding. It's a way to express your personality and creativity. "There's a special satisfaction in hanging a beautiful, homemade Christmas ornament on the tree and knowing that you have contributed to the Christmas magic," Anna smiles. Find inspiration to create your own homemade Christmas decorations or explore how to make creative Christmas gifts.

Personalise your Christmas tree with homemade Christmas tree decorations

The sisters cherish a Christmas tree with a traditional yet renewed expression, so that everyone will be excited to explore the Christmas tree this year. That is why they strive to have a wide selection of Christmas tree decorations in store that includes both classic as well as modern ornaments. "Mixing classic Christmas decorations, modern Christmas decorations, and homemade Christmas decorations creates a personal and unique Christmas tree," Clara says. Follow Anna and Clara's example and show your personality with your Christmas decorations.

“A Christmas tree forms the perfect canvas for creative pursuits,” Anna believes. Invite nature inside and decorate the tree so it reflects your personality. A personalised tree that oozes of traditions and ‘hygge’ is beauty in itself, the sisters think. You can personalise your own Christmas tree by choosing ornaments in your favourite colours, or, if creative unfolding is dear to your heart, by making your Christmas tree decorations yourself. Crocheted Christmas decorations or ornaments made from adorable glitter paper, for example, are both enjoyable to make and beautiful to look at when finished.

Create your own Christmas tree decorations: Anna and Clara’s DIY universe

The sisters are fond of making the Christmas tree decorations on their own, and each year they spend several hours both creating the ornaments as well as decorating their home and Christmas tree, so they feel the Christmas spirit surrounding them. To them, it is ideal to invite the dear little ones to help make the decorations. These creative moments will surely be worth preserving as an annual Christmas tradition. “The decorations made by the children will certainly personalise the tree, and a childlike element suits Christmas so well,” Clara notes as she patiently helps her nieces with folding Danish Christmas hearts in lovely colours, which the nieces have carefully selected. Explore the sisters' selection of creative DIY projects that you can make with children here and find inspiration for your next cosy project.

Christmas tree decorations in all sorts of shapes

Only your imagination sets the limit for the kinds of Christmas tree decorations you can make on your own. Whether you wish to make paper cones, stars, hearts or maybe even try out folding the difficult paper stars, the sisters surely have the right tools to help you carry out your creative projects – whether ambitious or not. Explore the sisters' large selection of hobby articles here. You can also discover the sisters' range of stationery, yarn and paint, which you can use to make beautiful and personalised Christmas decorations for the tree and home.

Both children and adults can join the cosy, creative moments, and if you wish to be inspired, Anna and Clara have gathered a lot of inspiration and a wealth of DIY projects for Christmas. Among these, you can also explore more modern and unusual Christmas tree decorations, which will undoubtedly bring a smile to your guests' faces. You can make the following decorations for your Christmas tree:

  • A beaded snowman
  • Quirky Christmas cones
  • A children’s drawings Christmas bauble
  • Handsewn felt Christmas ornaments
  • A salt dough Christmas heart with handprint
  • A crepe paper spruce cone

Unleash your creativity with Anna and Clara

According to Anna and Clara, creative pursuits are not only meant for Christmas time. In fact, throughout the year, the sisters’ home is beautifully decorated with homemade creations, and if your ambitions go further than simply the Christmas tree, you can explore and find inspiration for many more creative moments in the sisters’ additional DIY projects here.
